Things to do at the North Inch
We are extremely lucky at the North Inch to have a huge range of activities right on our doorstep! For centuries the North and South Inches have been used by the people of Perth for recreation and exercise or just as somewhere to relax and take in the scenery and that is still the case today.
Here are just a few of the things you can get up to at the North Inch – all within a few hundred yards of the first tee!
Bell’s Sports Centre is one of the largest sports facilities in Scotland and has hosted a number of international sporting events. From Squash to Badminton, five-a-side football to a fully equipped gym and a huge range of fitness classes, Bell’s can cater for all needs.
For us golfers they provide locker and changing facilities and the licensed café upstairs is a great place for a drink and a bite to eat after your round.
If Rugby is more your thing then the North Inch is home to the Perthshire Rugby Club. You can watch the team in action throughout the season on their floodlit pitch and even get involved yourself. The club also organises the hugely popular annual Perth Beer Festival held on the North Inch in May.
May is a busy month at the Inch as it is also hosts the Scottish Open Volleyball Tournament which is now the largest annual volleyball event in the UK and attracts over 1000 players from all over the world.
If you are into crown greens rather than putting greens then the Perth Bowling Club is situated less than a 5 iron away from the golf course as is the Perth Petanque Club who meet up several times a week throughout the summer months.
The North Inch also hosts Football, Cricket, Running and Cycling clubs as well as many outdoor fitness classes for all abilities.
Looking for a little bit of culture after your round of golf? Then why not head along to the Black Watch Museum and Cafe, or take a short stroll along the Inch to the Perth Museum and Art Gallery to see the famous The Monarch Of The Glen.
You can also learn about the Battle of the Clans which was fought on the North Inch in 1396 and take in several of Perth’s First World War memorials.
Still not ready to go home? Then how about a hot air balloon ride over the city?
As you can see, there are no shortage of things to do all year round at the North Inch and we are incredibly lucky as a golf course to have so many amazing attractions and facilities all within a few minutes walk of the course!
