Perth Golf Memories Group

Are you interested in Golf?

Do you have some spare time on a Monday morning?

If so, you can help us…

The Perth Golf Memories Group is an innovative partnership between Perth & Kinross Council and Sports Heritage Scotland which is possible due to the support of our venue at Noah’s Ark Golf Centre in Perth.

The project offers people living with dementia and age-related memory conditions the opportunity to re-connect with their ‘golf memories’ through hitting a ball again either on the driving range or accessible putting course as well as a chance to make new friends and reminisce over a ‘cuppa’ afterwards.

There are over 88,000 people living with dementia in Scotland and many of them were keen on Golf.  This project reignites that interest and enthusiasm and helps improve their lives by keeping them active.

Our group meets for 44 weeks of the year on a Monday morning from 10.30 a.m. to 12 noon.

We are looking to recruit some new relief volunteers to supplement our existing ‘Golf Buddies’ who support the group members to continue to play the game during their weekly sessions.   You may not be required every week but would go on a rota to cover holidays, sickness, or an increased number of attendees.

Please get in touch with us if you think you can spare some time for the sessions. You will enjoy it and some of the results will amaze you.
